Facial cleansing is one of the most popular treatments offered by beauty salons. Facial cleansing is advised to all customers regardless of skin type. The treatment relies on removing whiteheads and blackheads lying beneath the skin surface.
A blackhead, medically known as an open comedo, is a yellow or blackish bump or plug on the skin. A blackhead is a type of acne vulgaris. Blackheads are caused by excess oils that have accumulated in the sebaceous gland’s duct. The substance found in these bumps mostly consists of keratin and modified sebum (an oily secretion of the sebaceous gland), which darkens as it oxidizes. In contrast, a “whitehead” (more commonly known as a pimple or a closed comedo) is a follicle that is filled with the same material, sebum, but lacks a microscopic opening to the skin surface. Since the air cannot reach the follicle, the material is not oxidized, and remains white.
The facial cleansing starts from the deep facial cleaning, then the esthetician makes an exact skin analysis and sets out additional treatments that could be performed. In the following steps: the esthetician puts a special mask on the skin, removes blackheads and whitehead. The treatment ends in applying a cream that reduces redness. Customers choose whether Facial Cleansing Treatment is limited only to the treatment itself, or extended by an algae, collagen or facial massage.
