Is cavitation peeling a good preparation of the skin for make-up?

Is Ultrasonic Cavitation Peeling a Good Way to Prepare the Skin for Makeup?

Ultrasonic cavitation peeling, also known as ultrasonic peeling, is a treatment that involves the superficial exfoliation of dead skin cells using ultrasonic waves. As a result, the skin becomes smoother, cleaner, and refreshed. The procedure also improves microcirculation and enhances the skin’s ability to absorb active ingredients from skincare products. At first glance, it may seem like an ideal method to prepare the skin for makeup. However, in reality, the situation is more complex.

Applying makeup immediately after ultrasonic peeling can lead to certain skin problems. This is because, after the procedure, the skin is particularly sensitive and prone to contamination. The open pores and removal of the skin’s natural protective barrier make it easier for impurities and bacteria to penetrate. Consequently, this can result in clogged pores, breakouts, blackheads, and inflammation.

For this reason, specialists recommend waiting at least 1-2 days after the procedure before applying a full face of makeup. During this time, the skin has a chance to partially rebuild its natural hydrolipid barrier, reducing the risk of adverse reactions to cosmetics. In the meantime, it’s important to focus on proper skincare by using gentle moisturizing creams and soothing products to support skin regeneration. It’s advisable to avoid heavy cosmetics and products that may irritate the skin, such as heavily perfumed preparations or mechanical exfoliants.

Ultrasonic peeling is an excellent part of skin preparation for important events if performed well in advance. Thanks to this procedure, the complexion appears more radiant, and makeup applied a few days later can look more natural and last longer, as foundation and other cosmetics adhere better to smooth, well-cleansed skin. However, it is crucial to maintain an appropriate time gap between the treatment and the application of makeup to avoid potential deterioration of the skin’s condition.

In our opinion, ultrasonic cavitation peeling is an excellent skincare treatment but should not be regarded as direct preparation for makeup. Performing it in advance allows for better aesthetic and health results while minimizing the risk of undesirable skin reactions.
