After depilation skin irritation can sometimes occur. Here are a few tips on how to deal with waxing irritation:

  1. Use soothing creams – after depilation use soothing creams or gels that contain moisturizing and calming ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile, or panthenol. In our salon, you have the option to purchase such cosmetics directly after the treatment. We particularly recommend brands like Sudocrem or Bump eRaiser for ingrown hair.
  2. Avoid hot water of any kind – avoid hot baths, saunas and sunbeds for several hours after waxing as hot water can increase skin irritation.
  3. Be careful with “harsh cosmetics” – avoid using harsh scrubs containing abrasive materials such as salt or sugar or strong cleansing soaps immediately after waxing, as they may further irritate the skin.
  4. Avoid sweat and dust immediately after waxing – try to avoid situations that may cause excessive sweating as well as contact with dust and dirt, as they can increase the risk of irritation.
  5. Avoid tight clothing – rather choose loose-fitting clothes that won’t rub against freshly waxed skin.
  6. Isolate the irritated area – avoid touching or rubbing the irritated area to avoid additional irritation.
  7. Apply cold compresses- if you experience discomfort, you can apply a cold compress to the irritated skin to reduce swelling and redness. It will alleviate your discomfort
  8. Avoid sunlight – avoid sunbathing immediately after waxing, as the skin may be more susceptible to sunburn.

If the irritation persists for a long time or is very severe, it is worth consulting a beautician for more specialized help and recommendations.
