What products are used for a Vinylux pedicure?

A vinyl pedicure requires specific products to ensure its durability, resistance to chipping, and long-lasting shine. The key to success is using the right preparation products, vinyl polish, and top coat.

1. Nail Preparation Products

To ensure the vinyl pedicure lasts as long as possible, the nails must be properly cleaned and prepped:

  • Nail cleaner – removes dirt, oil, and cosmetic residue.
  • Nail file – helps shape the nails to the desired length.
  • Buffing block (optional) – can be used for very light smoothing, but is not necessary, as vinyl polish does not require nail buffing.
  • Cuticle pusher or cuticle nippers – for gently pushing back or trimming excess cuticles.

2. Vinyl Nail Polish

The main component of a vinyl pedicure is vinyl nail polish, which features:

  • A self-curing formula – does not require a UV/LED lamp.
  • Better chip resistance than traditional polish.
  • Flexibility, allowing it to move naturally with the nail.

One of the most popular vinyl polishes is CND Vinylux Long Wear Polish, available in a wide range of colors.

3. Vinyl Top Coat

To extend the durability of the polish, a vinyl top coat is used to provide:

  • Long-lasting shine for multiple days.
  • Self-curing technology activated by natural light.
  • Additional protection against chipping and wear.

A commonly used product is CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat, which strengthens the polish and extends its wear time up to 10–14 days.

4. Nail and Cuticle Care Products

To keep nails and surrounding skin healthy, it’s beneficial to use:

  • Cuticle and nail oils (e.g., argan oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E) – prevent dryness and strengthen the nail plate.
  • Moisturizing foot creams – help maintain soft and smooth skin after a pedicure.
  • Foot scrubs – recommended before the procedure to remove dead skin and prepare the feet.

5. Nail Polish Remover (Acetone-Free)

When it’s time to remove the vinyl pedicure, it’s best to use a gentle, acetone-free nail polish remover, which avoids drying out the nails and cuticles.
