Is Lycon epilation gentler than strip waxing?

Lycon waxing is considered a gentler and more comfortable method of hair removal compared to traditional soft (strip) waxing. The key difference between these methods is the use of a special protective oil that is applied to the skin before the Lycon wax. The oil acts as a protective barrier, minimizing direct contact between the wax and the skin, which helps reduce the feeling of pulling or skin irritation during the procedure.

This technique also allows for multiple applications of wax on the same area without risking skin damage, which is particularly beneficial when waxing sensitive areas such as the bikini line, underarms, or face. Lycon wax adheres primarily to the hair rather than the skin, making the hair removal process less painful, even for shorter hairs (as short as 1 mm).

Another important aspect is the composition of the products used in this method. Lycon waxes are often enriched with natural soothing ingredients, such as aloe vera, chamomile, or essential oils, which support skin regeneration and prevent dryness. As a result, the skin is less irritated after the treatment, and the nourishing effects are noticeable almost immediately.

Additionally, Lycon waxing is more safe due to the high flexibility and plasticity of the wax, which allows it to conform precisely to the body’s contours. This reduces the risk of micro-injuries and ingrown hairs. For many people with sensitive skin or a tendency for irritation, the Lycon method is an excellent alternative to traditional strip waxing.
